Larry the Cow is the unofficial mascot[1] of Gentoo, they were originally created by a user called Nefarius.[2]

- Since Larry is a male, a few people argue that they should be called Larry the Bull instead, however a bug report was filed and no action was taken.[3]
- Larry can be found in emerge by running "emerge --moo", Larry can also be found in apt by running "apt moo".
- Larry the Cow is from Round Rock, Texas.[4]
